The Savera Story

The journey of SAVERA started over a decade ago when our father coined the word with the initials of our family. To respect and continue his legacy, when we wanted to launch a brand of South Indian filter coffee there was no better name than SAVERA. Incidentally, SAVERA in India translates to morning.

Indian filter coffee is not only a delicious beverage but also has several health benefits. Coffee is known to boost energy levels, improve mental alertness, and enhance cognitive performance. It is also a rich source of antioxidants and can reduce the risk of several chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, liver disease, and some types of cancer.

Freshly roasted in UAE

SAVERA is the first filter coffee to be produced locally in the United Arab Emirates from carefully sourced coffee beans that are roasted, ground and blended for your enjoyment.

Savera works closely with an Emarti-owned coffee producer Karam Foods (a member of Essa Al Ghurair Investment LLC) that will assure you of the best product with the highest quality to reach your cup so you enjoy this traditional experience.

Make a Perfect Filter Kapi

The filter used in making Indian filter coffee consists of two cylindrical chambers. The upper chamber is where the finely ground coffee beans are placed, and the lower chamber is where the distilled coffee is collected. Hot water is poured over the coffee grounds and it slowly seeps through the perforated chamber, producing a rich and flavorful coffee concentrate. This coffee concentrate is then mixed with hot milk and sugar to create the final cup of Indian filter coffee.

The key to making a perfect cup of Indian filter coffee is to use high-quality coffee beans and to ensure that the coffee is brewed slowly to extract maximum flavor. The coffee beans used in Indian filter coffee are typically grown in the shade and are a blend of arabica and robusta beans. The coffee is usually roasted to a medium-dark level, which gives it a rich, bold flavor and a distinct aroma.

Indian filter coffee is usually served in a small stainless steel or brass tumbler called “dabara,” along with a larger metal cup called “sombu.” The coffee is poured back and forth between the two cups to create a frothy layer on top, which enhances the taste and aroma of the coffee
